Baltimore Day Trips
A day trip to Baltimore is a great idea, but getting back by public transport is a little tough. It's easiest to get to Baltimore by MARC Train's Camden Line ($6) on weekdays, but there is no service on weekends, and the last Camden Line train back to D.C. often departs early. When the MARC Train lets you down, you will have to take the Baltimore Light Rail ($1.60) to BWI Airport and then transfer to either Amtrak or the B30 express Metrobus ($6) to the Greenbelt Green Line Metro stop. If you wish to linger in the city later than the last light rail train, you will need to catch a cab either to BWI for the bus, or to Baltimore Penn Station for Amtrak. If this sounds like a headache, a one-day car rental is a serviceable option.
