  • Glasgow's subway runs in a double circle around the Glasgow city centre and some inner suburbs. Contrary to what tourist guidebooks would have you believe, locals never call it the "Clockwork Orange" (that is a fantasy of the London media) and most will refer to it simply as "the Subway". The system serves the city centre, the West End (around Glasgow University) and Ibrox Stadium. There are interchanges with surface trains at Buchanan Street/Queen Street and Partick stations. 6:30AM-11:15PM (Sunday 10:00AM-5:50PM). The cost is £1.20 flat fare or £3.50 for unlimited daily. No bikes are allowed.
