Amtrak has a station on the aptly named Station Lane about a mile from downtown. Service between New York City and Montreal.
Saratoga and North Creek Railroad is a new (July 2011) railroad with service from the Saratoga Springs Amtrak station to the Adironack village of North Creek, with flag stops at seven other intermediate stations. Service is offered three times a day Thursday through Monday in historic dome cars. The morning train is timed to coordinate with Amtrak service. A great way to see the Adirondacks without driving.
