Siem Reap International Airport (IATA: REP, ICAO: VDSR) is the second largest airport in Cambodia. The distinctly Cambodian style building is as modern as any international hotel though the usual airport facilities are limited. There are separate terminals for international and domestic flights. The following airlines operate services at Siem Reap International Airport:

The airport is around 7 km from the town centre. Prepaid taxis cost US$7, see the prepaid booth just outside the terminal. Prepaid tuktuk rides for slightly less are also available. Thrill seeking solo travellers without much baggage can save a few dollars by opting for back of a motodop for perhaps US$4. Most hotels offer a free airport pick-up if you've booked in advance.

Departure Tax?

As of 1 April 2011 travellers departing Cambodia by air are no longer required to pay the International departure tax. The US$25 fee has been included in the ticket price since 21 January 2011 for departures on or after 1 April. According to the Phnom Penh Post, if you purchased tickets before 21 January for an April or later departure, you still need to pay the tax at the airport.

However, a Domestic departure tax of US$12 for domestic flight is still required to be paid at the airport. Generally, it's best to pay in cash as the credit card facilities are unreliable.
