Air Astana offers daily flights to/from Almaty, Astana and Atyrau and a weekly service to/from Amsterdam. Transaero has very good connections from London-Heathrow, Frankfurt, Vienna and Tel-Aviv but only flies in twice a week. However if you have a Russian visa you can use nearby Samara airport with direct flights to/from Moscow (up to 12 a day), Frankfurt (Lufthansa) and Prague (Czech Airlines). Uralsk Ak-Zhol airport (URA/UARR) also serves a small number of charter flights e.g. to/from Antalya operated by Scat to which tickets can be purchased directly from the airline.
