Kigoma is accessible by road, rail and water. The MV Liemba is the most reliable water transport form the southern end of the lake, the railway connects fromt he east, and the basic road network makes Kigoma accessible form all areas of Tanzania. Roads are not good, but are passable and are improving. Allow 2 days from Mwanza, 1 or 2 days from Mpanda.
