The best shopping in the area is on King Street in Old Town, although there are a few interesting little shops up and down Washington Street.
The only mall in Alexandria is the Landmark Mall , 5801 Duke Street, +1 703 354-8405, on the west side of the town, close to Interstate 395. The Mall is anchored by three major stores: Sears, Macy's, and Lord and Taylor. Nearby malls can be found in Springfield, Pentagon City, and the expensive, but impressive Tysons I & II in Fairfax County.
Another large shopping area in Alexandria is the newer Potomac Yard Center ( , 3671 Jefferson Davis Highway; see this page for phone numbers of all retailers), an open-air "power center" that includes many "big box" stores on US Route 1 just south of Reagan National Airport.
