Kununurra in the Kimberley is home to the Hoochery Distillery, the oldest continuously operating rum producer in WA, where local cane sugar is used to make some pretty potent booze. Though it's aged in oak barrels it's still a harsh gulp but the high alcohol percentage, up to 70%, hits in the right way. Tours of the distilling operations run in the peak season.
